LEAVING ALREADY ):

Hello everyone!
I am writing this from Brisbane airport, with 3 hours of free wifi YAY.
There is still so much to tell so I will do that now, because in 2 hours we will go home already..
NOOOO
It feels like I am living here, like we emigrated haha.

But here the last week:

Aug 12th + Aug 13th

We drove from Airlie Beach to Mackay, where we stayed in a beautiful resort called Dolphins Head.

We relaxed at the pool and had the most beautiful view ever.

Aug 14th

On the 14th we drove from Mackay to Yeppoon.

Here we stayed in a traditional Australian Caravan park.

We all laughed about the 'Aged' sign.

Aug 15th

In Yeppoon we visited the Koala sanctuary.

This was amazing because we could actually cuddle them.

SO CUTE.

There also were some kangaroos, eating out of our hands..

My little friend, the 14 months old koala named Loco. 

We left Yeppoon at 12 am and drove to Hervey Bay.

We arrived here at dinner time, so we had lovely dinner and went to sleep, because the next day was a very busy day..

Aug 16th

On the 16th of August we took a ferry and went to Fraser Island.

Fraser Island is a beautiful island made out of sand.

We did this by tour guide, so we learned a lot about the beautiful forest and aboriginals.

On Fraser Island they have a high way on the beach!
So we were just driving on the sand, in a four-wheel-drive bus.

There was also the opportunity to make a flight on a little sea plane.
And, my parents did not need any convincing.
We were the first to board the flight.
It was amazing!!
We flew over the sea and saw whales, it was incredible!
My little sister, Anouk, was sitting in the front seat, next to the pilot. And oh so happy!

The Fraser Island highway. They had an actual speed limit of 80 km p/hour. haha.

Aug 17th

On this day we drove from Hervey Bay to Noosa.

-We will miss the beautiful landscape..-

Noosa is a lovely town with a gorgeous beach and the cutest shops!

We had amazing apartments and the best pool I have ever seen.

Aug 18th

This was our last relaxing pool day..

So we enjoyed it really much.

Anouk and dad went to a market near the Noosa river.

For lunch we had the best King Prawns in the world, Mooloolooba prawns.

As recommended by Darren and Lynn, whom we met during our Whitsundays sailing tour.

Aug 19th

For our last destination we had, where we are at the moment, Brisbane.

We arrived here at lunch time and loved the vibe and city immediately!

We did some shopping and walked around the city.

We still could not believe that this was our last day and destination..

We ended our holiday with a lovely dinner at a restaurant called Next Door, near the river.

Aug 20th

Here we are now.. At Brisbane Airport..

It is now 09:21, boarding time is 09:35.

So I need to hurry.

I am making a video of all the underwater footage!!

And I am also making a video of our trip in general.

So I will post those later!

I hoped you liked reading this blog as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I had the most amazing holiday, thanks to my parents, my sister and Riksja Travel and Australia online.

MISSION BEACH

Hellohello,

Sooo long no WiFi.. I'm sorry for neglecting my blog..
But now there is much to tell, so I will get into it right away!
I have seen so much since my last post and I had to think, 'Where do I start..'
Here we go.

On the 7th of August we got our rental car in Cairns.
We then drove 4 hours to Mission Beach.
Mission Beach has a tropical climate, so even in the Australian winter the temperatures were
really nice. Mission beach has a beach, but we stayed in the rainforest, 5 min from the beach.
We only stayed here one night because the next day we had to go driving again.
We stayed in a beautiful B&B called 'The Licuala Lodge'.
The people were really nice and it was so cool to suddenly be surrounded by all sorts of flora and fauna we had never seen before.

We really enjoyed our stay!
The next day we drove to Airlie Beach.

ALICE SPRINGS: WILD ROCKWALLABY

Hii,
I kind of forgot to write about something very special in the last post..
On our last day in Alice Springs we saw a wallaby!
Now you might think; 'What is a wallaby again...?'
According to Wikipedia:
A wallaby is any of about thirty species of Macropodidae family. It is an informal designation generally used for any macropod that is smaller than a kangaroo or wallaroo that has not been designated otherwise.

Okay, maybe this doesn't work.. Basically a wallaby is similar to a kangaroo, but smaller. Our tour guide in Uluru told us the main difference between a wallaby and a kangaroo is that a kangaroo has his tail connected to his spine, which makes him able to jump with his tail. A wallaby has his tail not connected to his spine, so he can not stand on it.

Here are some pictures of the wild rockwallaby we saw.

SPOT THE WALLABY! Aren't they hard to see!? We waited for half an hour, we were looking and looking, but suddenly there was a wallaby sitting next to my dad. So strange, but so funny.
